Ibaraki Robots tab Chehales Tapscott

Japanese B2 powerhouse Ibaraki Robots inked 29-year old American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland State). He is a well-known player in Japanese league as this is going to be his 7th season in B2. Most recently Tapscott played at Ehime Orange Vikings - in 47 Japanese B2 League games he was second best scorer with impressive 30.0ppg, had 10.1rpg, 4.3apg and 1.4spg in 2019-20 season. A very good year in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B League D2 2nd Team, All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (3 times).
The previous (18-19) season Tapscott played at Kumamoto Volters where in 57 games he was fifth best scorer with remarkable 22.9ppg and recorded 9.3rpg, 4.8apg and 1.3spg. He helped them to win Japanese B2 regular season and make it to the semifinals. Good season as he was also selected League Player of the Week (6 times).
In 2013 (a year after he left the college) Tapscott was drafted by Maine Red Claws (D-League) in fourth round (61st overall).
He attended Portland State until 2012 and it is his tenth season in pro basketball.
Tapscott has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to four different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia and of course North America). 
Among many awards Tapscott received Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese B League D2 Import Player of the Year award in 2018.
