Ramunas Butautas was born on 22 May 1964 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Works as professional basketball coach since 2003. During his career coached various Lithuanian National Teams of different ages, starting from U16. In 2006 the executive committee of Basketball Federation of Lithuania unanimously decided that Butautas would become the head coach of the Lithuanian National men's basketball team. In 2017 Butautas became the head coach of Lebanese National Team.

Mother language - Lithuanian, speaks fluent English and Russian.
